How Much Social Media Is Enough For My Aviation Business?

That depends.  The social media industry’s standard is Hootsuite, a social media scheduling tool, says business accounts should be posting about 3-7 times per week on Instagram.  On Facebook, they should be posting 1-2 times per day, LinkedIn 1-5 times per day and Twitter 1-5 times per day.  Sound like a lot?  It is.

Consider the following when trying to manage your company’s social media presence:

  • Remember who your audience and industry are – Aviation is a bit different in that we are a very specialized and technical industry. 
  • Objectives matter – What do you hope to get out of it?  Aviation businesses can certainly benefit from a solid social media presence but develop and keep your objectives in mind.  Are you posting to stay in front of customers or prospects? Are you posting because everyone else does?  Are you hoping for engagement or just using the platforms to show off internal work?
  • Plan your content – Come up with a content calendar and stick to it.
  • Be flexible – When you have some unplanned content or an announcement, integrate it into the schedule.
  • Post organically – While you evaluate whether paid ads have any potential benefit for your company image, products or services.
