Determine/define what you are doing to attract new business
No one ever deliberately wants to cut back on new business. But do you actually know what you are doing to attract new business? Sure, dedicated business development people are great if you have the budget. But even a dedicated person or team needs additional tools. This is why now is not the time to cut back on marketing.
Don’t get so distracted with day to day operation that you forget to take stock of your marketing efforts and summarize what you are doing to get new business. Do you have promotional pricing specials to offer? Are you offering incentives to new customers? Then the bigger question is how will they know?
