WEST STAR AVIATION HOSTS OVER 300 CHILDREN AT ANNUAL SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS DAY

West Star Aviation recently welcomed over 300 children at their 23rd Annual Special Needs Kids Day. The event took place on May 11th, 2012 at the Grand Junction Regional Airport on the West Star general aviation ramp.

The children, along with their caregivers, enjoyed the day while taking an up-close look at aviation. There were military aircraft such as F-18’s, T-38’s, EA6B Prowlers and an E-6 on site. Participants were invited to tour inside each of the aircraft. In addition, the local state patrol provided a Cessna 182 and a hazmat truck, while the local airport provided an air field fire truck. West Star Aviation provided lunch and the children participated in face painting.
