SATCOM1 LAUNCHES FIRST SWIFTBROADBAND BILLING SOLUTION FOR CHARTERS AND FRACTIONALS

Satcom1 recently announced the launch of Flight Billing, the first of their Individual Billing Solutions for charters, fractionals, airlines and business jet operators.  The Flight Billing Solution was developed to make passenger communications billing easier and more efficient for providers, and poses less risk of leaving providers with large communications charges. Flight Billing is currently available for SwiftBroadband.

Traditionally, billing passengers for on-flight communication services has been an inefficient and labor intensive procedure for charter and fleet operators as it was necessary to distinguish which passengers should be charged for each service in the previous month. This resulted in a limited number of charter companies providing satellite connections due to the risk of high usage bills. However, Satcom1’s Flight Billing Solution takes the inconvenience out of offering satellite services on aircraft as it automatically charges usage of each flight to a specific customer.

Flight Billing requires no hardware to be added to the aircraft and allows users to browse the internet, access e-mails, and send instant messages from their laptops, iPads, iPhones, or Smartphones.  Any customer using Satcom1 as a service provider can take advantage of the convenient benefits that Flight Billing has to offer. Adding to this convenience, Satcom1 will handle all billing and invoicing directly to the user without any action from the aircraft operator. Flight Billing is a complete hot spot and billing solution for providing communication services to customers with no hassle to the operator.

Satcom1 customers will pass the ease and convenience of this solution to their customers as well. The Flight Billing Solution will have a familiar interface for users as it is just like connecting to the internet at a hotel or airport. Users can choose from different options for gaining access and paying for data using a credit card via a secure banking connection or vouchers provided by the aircraft operator.

In addition to Flight Billing, Satcom1 will launch a second Individual Billing Solution next year. Pay Per User will be a billing solution which is ideal for operators who want to bill usage to each individual user. No matter the amount of passengers on the flight, charges can be billed to the individual accounts that are set up in advance or while on the flight. Contact Satcom1 for more about this solution.

Satcom1’s ambition is to be the leading service provider for the Inmarsat, Iridium and Ku-Band satellite systems. Their core focus is aeronautical network solutions with data compression, encryption, video conferencing and VoIP for VIP, business jets and government aircraft. They also provide professional services for the maritime, vehicle and portable markets. Satcom1 provides everything from activation setup to software applications matching customer needs. Satcom1 strategy is breaking edge within aeronautical satellite solutions, always providing the latest technology to their customers. NEW PROGRAM REDUCES WASTE ON TRADESHOW FLOOR AT NBAA

Chesterfield, MO –October 4, 2011–SmartBag™-Digital Tradeshow Bag, a complete digital literature management system, is being debuted at NBAA’s Annual Convention this year in Las Vegas, NV. The program was developed to simplify the process of sharing information and reduce the massive amount of printed materials that are wasted on the tradeshow floor.

Now there is a smarter way to collect important information at tradeshows. SmartBag™-Digital Tradeshow Bag is based on a well established technology that continues to grow in popularity–Quick Response Codes, or QR Codes. By utilizing QR code technology, SmartBag™ allows show attendees to use their iPhones to scan an exhibitor’s code and access all of the vital information they came to NBAA to receive. Now attendees can select the items they are interested in and manage those documents from their iPhones or web-enabled computers. Using SmartBag™ attendees can review, print, or email any of the literature an exhibitor has available. They can even request a hard copy of the literature to be mailed to them, all without leaving the tradeshow floor.

NBAA attendees can simply download the FREE app, scan the QR codes located at NBAA booths, choose the materials they are interested in, and move on to the next. With SmartBag™, attendees can take advantage of the following benefits the program has to offer:

  • No need to carry large amounts of literature around the show
  • Review the information when you’re ready
  • Organizational Tools for show floor included in app
  • Efficiency increased – Ability to send/receive materials directly from show floor.
  • Access to exhibitor materials for 30 days after the show without shipping it home
  • Accessible from virtually any web enabled device
  • Eco-conscious choice

Exhibitors can expect to enjoy the benefits of reduced cost of shipping, drayage & printing necessary for each show by minimizing the amount of printed materials needed in their booths.  Plus, by using SmartBag™, exhibitors are promoting green initiatives while reducing the amount of waste produced at tradeshows.

Developed specifically for tradeshows and event environments, SmartBag allows trade show attendees to download a FREE app by visiting www.digitalsmartbag.com to transform their smartphones into a scanning device. Once the app is installed, attendees can scan the individual SmartBag QR Codes visible on every participating exhibitor’s booth to access a full library of brochures, sales literature and promotional materials.

The program is now available for the iPhone, with Android and BlackBerry versions coming soon. The program is being introduced and tested by a select few exhibitors at NBAA.  Attendees can find the scannable QR code and take part in the new program by visiting participating exhibitors by looking for SmartBag™- Digital Tradeshow Bag counter cards at NBAA.

The program features a custom Smartphone app interface for “on-floor” management of materials along with an easy to navigate web portal that makes it easy to manage SmartBag materials from your laptop, desktop or tablet.
